Chase B named Lids creative director during Be Very Afraid era

Chase B Named Lids Creative Director

Chase B has officially stepped into a new role in the fashion world, becoming the creative director for Lids.

The appointment represents a full-circle moment for the Houston DJ and producer. Before rising to fame as the touring DJ for Travis Scott aka La Flame, and becoming a key member of the Cactus Jack creative circle, Chase B once worked at a Lids store while attending Howard University. He shared in a Complex interview last year that this early retail experience helped shape his appreciation for fitted hat culture and streetwear aesthetics.

Now, years later, he’s helping shape the brand’s future from a creative leadership position.

Chase B’s Vision for Lids

As the new creative director, Chase B plans to merge music, sports, and streetwear culture through new collaborations and product drops.

His earlier partnership with the retailer included a unique fitted hat collection featuring multiple fabrics and patterns across each panel—an approach inspired by sneaker culture and the experimental design philosophy behind mash-up releases like the “What The” sneaker concept.

With Chase B, Lids creative director now involved in a deeper creative role, Lids is positioning itself closer to music and fashion culture rather than remaining solely a sports merchandise retailer.

With Chase B at the helm, we are eager to see what he brings to the table and whether we see a future collab with the likes of Lids x Travis Scott.
