to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice.
Ongoing Fallout From Kanye West Controversies
The Marseille concert postponement is the latest development in a series of challenges surrounding Ye’s international performances.
In recent years, the rapper has faced backlash over antisemitic remarks and controversial imagery, which has led to bans, canceled events, and public criticism.
Despite the controversy, Ye has continued to perform in select markets and still has multiple shows planned across Europe and Asia later this year.
I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends

I take full responsibility for what’s mine but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it

Political Pushback in France Sparked the Decision
The postponed concert came amid growing backlash from French officials and public figures who criticized West’s appearance in the country.
Officials in France had reportedly been exploring legal ways to block the show following controversy surrounding the rapper’s past remarks and actions.
The criticism included opposition from Marseille’s mayor and pressure from the country’s interior ministry, both of whom questioned whether the concert should be allowed to proceed.
This latest cancellation follows Ye recently being banned from traveling to the United Kingdom ahead of his headlining Wireless Festival performance – read more about this ban here.
