Kanye Ends His Chicago Homecoming With a Historic Night

Ye (formerly Kanye West) closed his two night Chicago homecoming on Friday, September 4, with one of the biggest performances of his 2026 comeback tour.

Ye brought out Kid Cudi, Chief Keef, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Common, Lupe Fiasco and more during a marathon concert at Soldier Field. The night featured over 60 songs, several emotional reunions and performances spanning nearly every era of Kanye’s career.

The Chicago dates marked Ye’s first public hometown appearances since his 2021 Donda listening event at Soldier Field—and his first extended hometown concert run in years.

Kanye West Brings Out Chicago Legends for Night 2

Ye began night two by entering Soldier Field to “Put On,” his 2008 collaboration with Jeezy, before transitioning into “Homecoming.”

The opening immediately established the theme of the night. This was a celebration of Chicago and the artists who helped shape his career.

Kanye moved through “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “N****s in Paris” before introducing one of the night’s first major guests: Chief Keef.

The Chicago drill pioneer emerged to perform “Love Sosa,” sending Soldier Field into an uproar. Ye then joined Keef for “I Don’t Like,” even restarting the song before performing it again.

Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross Revisit Kanye’s Classics

The special guests continued as Ye moved across different periods of his catalog.

Big Sean returned after appearing during the first Soldier Field show, joining Ye for “Clique” before performing his own hit “I Don’t Fuck With You.”

The appearance remained significant because of the complicated history between Ye and his former G.O.O.D. Music artist. Despite their previous public disagreements, the two once again shared the stage during one of Ye’s biggest hometown performances.

2 Chainz joined Ye and Big Sean for “Mercy,” recreating the energy of the 2012 G.O.O.D. Music anthem. He followed the collaboration by performing “I’m Different.”

Rick Ross later delivered one of the night’s most anticipated performances when the opening notes of “Devil in a New Dress” played inside Soldier Field.

The My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy favorite received its first performance of Ye’s current tour, with Ross appearing to deliver his celebrated guest verse. He then performed his own 2010 anthem, “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast).”
