Kanye West Reveals New Yeezy 800 Colorways
Ye (formerly Kanye West) is continuing to build out the next chapter of YZY footwear, and his latest preview gives fans a look at several new colorways of the upcoming Yeezy 800.
After initially showcasing the sneaker in an understated all black colorway, Ye has now previewed four colorful versions of the silhouette. The latest designs feature pastel toned colors that mark a noticeable shift from the darker and earth toned palettes that have defined much of Ye’s footwear in recent years.
The new colorways give the Yeezy 800 a much more vibrant appearance while maintaining the chunky, retro inspired running aesthetic of the original design.
A Closer Look at the Yeezy 800
The Yeezy 800 features a retro running inspired silhouette with an open mesh upper and contrasting overlay panels. Leather and suede elements appear around areas including the eyelets, forefoot and heel, while the mesh construction continues around the midsole.
The sneaker’s overall design feels distinctly Yeezy, combining unconventional proportions with a futuristic take on traditional running shoes.
While the original all black version delivered a much more minimal look, these new colorways give the Yeezy 800 a completely different personality. Much like earlier this week, Ye would share these new models on his Instagram story as seen below.
Ye Is Bringing Color Back to Yeezy
The colorful Yeezy 800 preview is particularly interesting considering Ye’s influence on the popularity of neutral and tonal sneaker palettes.
Throughout the adidas Yeezy era, shades of black, brown, gray, cream and other muted tones became closely associated with the brand’s aesthetic. The new Yeezy 800 colorways appear to move in a more playful direction, using pastel shades to add considerably more color to the silhouette.
That change could signal a broader evolution for YZY as Ye continues developing footwear independently.
When Will the Yeezy 800 Release?
For now, Ye has only previewed the new Yeezy 800 colorways, and an official release date has not been announced.
The sneaker arrives as Yeezy prepares for a broader return to retail. The YS-01 Slide is scheduled to release through JD Sports on August 13, 2026, marking a major step for Ye’s independent footwear operation.
Whether the Yeezy 800 will eventually follow the same retail path remains to be seen.
For now, fans will have to wait for Ye and YZY to reveal additional details about the sneaker, including pricing, sizing and an official release date.
