Falling in Reverse Brings Three Generations of Heavy Music Together
Falling in Reverse has returned with “Joseph,” a surprise new single featuring Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and System of a Down vocalist Serj Tankian.
Released alongside an ambitious new music video, the collaboration brings three of modern heavy music’s most recognizable voices together on one record. It also continues Falling in Reverse’s run of larger than life releases built to feel like events rather than conventional singles.
Falling in Reverse Unites Corey Taylor and Serj Tankian
“Joseph” places Ronnie Radke alongside two vocalists whose bands helped define different generations of alternative and heavy music.
Taylor has fronted Slipknot throughout the band’s rise into one of metal’s biggest global acts, while Tankian’s unmistakable delivery became central to System of a Down’s politically charged and unconventional sound.
The guests are not limited to appearances in the visual. Both Taylor and Tankian provide vocals on the song, giving “Joseph” a genuine three way collaboration rather than a cameo driven music video.
The title also carries a personal connection to Radke, whose full name is Ronald Joseph Radke.
Corey Taylor Reunites With Falling in Reverse
“Joseph” is not the first time Falling in Reverse has collaborated with Corey Taylor.
Taylor previously appeared on the band’s 2019 single “Drugs,” delivering the song’s climactic guest performance. His return on “Joseph” reconnects the two artists seven years later, this time with Tankian added to the combination.
Tankian’s involvement is particularly notable. In a 2024 interview, the System of a Down vocalist revealed that he had been listening to newer artists including Falling in Reverse, making his eventual appearance alongside the band a natural progression.
“Joseph” Continues the Band’s Cinematic Direction
Falling in Reverse once again worked with director Jensen Noen, who has helped establish the dramatic visual language behind several of the band’s biggest releases.
Noen previously directed videos including “Popular Monster,” “Zombified,” “Watch the World Burn” and “Prequel.” With “Joseph,” the band continues treating each new release as a cinematic production designed to extend beyond the song itself.
The collaboration arrives as Falling in Reverse continues moving between metal, hip-hop, electronic production and arena-ready rock without remaining confined to a single genre.
