Post Malone’s August 26 Is Finally Coming to Streaming
Nearly a decade after its original release, Post Malone’s August 26 mixtape is finally getting an official streaming release. The project, which introduced fans to an early version of the artist before Stoney turned him into a global superstar, will arrive on streaming platforms on August 26, 2026, as part of its10th anniversary celebration.
The anniversary rollout also comes with another first for the mixtape: an official vinyl pressing. Until now, fans looking to own August 26 physically have not had an official vinyl edition to turn to, making the 10th anniversary release a major moment for collectors.
Originally released in 2016, the 10-track project captured Post Malone at the very beginning of his career, shortly after “White Iverson” put him on the map. Now, August 26 will finally be available alongside the rest of his official catalog on major streaming services.
August 26 Helped Launch Post Malone’s Career
When August 26 dropped in 2016, Post Malone was still at the beginning of his rise to superstardom.
“White Iverson” had already turned him into one of hip-hop’s most talked about new artists, but August 26 gave fans a better look at the sound and personality that would eventually lead to his debut studio album, Stoney.
The mixtape’s title was originally connected to Post’s planned release date for Stoney. Although Stoney was ultimately pushed back and arrived on December 9, 2016, the August 26 title remained an important piece of Post Malone’s early history.
The project features 10 tracks, including collaborations with 2 Chainz, Larry June, Jeremih, Lil Yachty, Jaden Smith and Teo. Fan favorites include “Money Made Me Do It,” “Git Wit U,” “Hollywood Dreams / Come Down” and “Lonely.”
August 26 Is Getting Its First Official Vinyl Release
The streaming release isn’t the only reason longtime Post Malone fans have to be excited.
For the first time, August 26 will also receive an official vinyl release as part of the 10th anniversary rollout.
Post’s announcement confirmed that the mixtape will be available on vinyl alongside its arrival on streaming platforms. The physical release is expected to be available online and at select retailers while supplies last.
This is particularly notable for collectors because August 26 has never had an official vinyl release. Previous vinyl versions that have circulated online have been unofficial pressings, making the 2026 release the first official opportunity to own the mixtape on vinyl.
A Full Circle Moment for Post Malone
The arrival of August 26 on streaming comes nearly a decade after Post Malone went from an internet breakout artist to one of the biggest names in music.
Since the mixtape’s original release, Post has expanded far beyond his early hip-hop sound. He has earned multiple No. 1 hits, crossed heavily into pop and country, and released projects including Beerbongs & Bentleys, Hollywood’s Bleeding, Twelve Carat Toothache, Austin and F-1 Trillion.
Now, fans will finally be able to find one of the earliest chapters of his career alongside the rest of his official discography on streaming services.
