Playboi Carti Previews YVL x BAPE Collab
Playboi Carti has offered the first look at a collaboration between his YVL brand and Japanese streetwear giant BAPE.
Carti revealed the previously unseen pieces through new Instagram photos while celebrating his 30th birthday, appearing in a collaborative camouflage hoodie and matching hat. The preview brings YVL’s identity into BAPE’s unmistakable visual world, combining prominent YVL branding with the label’s signature camouflage.
The Playboi Carti YVL x BAPE collab has not received a release date, but the images provide an early look at what could become one of Carti’s most notable fashion releases yet.
A Closer Look at the YVL x BAPE Hoodie and Hat
The hoodie builds upon BAPE’s recognizable camouflage design while introducing oversized YVL lettering across the front. Carti completed the look with a coordinating camouflage hat featuring additional collaborative branding.
Only the hoodie and hat were shown in the initial Instagram preview. It is not currently known whether those products make up the entire release or belong to a larger collection that has yet to be revealed.
YVL Continues Growing as a Fashion Brand
Young Vamp Life, commonly shortened to YVL, has become an increasingly important part of Carti’s identity beyond his music.
The name and its distinctive hand sign have appeared throughout Carti’s visuals, merchandise and public appearances. More recently, YVL branding was used across Carti’s collaboration with Mitchell & Ness (available now at Carti’s official store), which transformed NBA jerseys with his signature “00” and Young Vamp Life imagery.
A partnership with BAPE would push YVL further into established streetwear territory. BAPE has remained one of the culture’s most recognizable brands through its camouflage patterns, Ape Head logo and history of collaborations across music, fashion and entertainment.
Carti has also maintained a close relationship with fashion throughout his career, making the pairing feel natural. The darker identity surrounding YVL contrasts with BAPE’s colorful streetwear heritage while giving both brands recognizable elements to work with. A collaboration with BAPE feels like natural progression as Carti famously collaborated with Supreme this past August 2025 for his own photo tee, solidifying himself in streetwear culture.
Will the YVL x BAPE Hoodie and Hat Release?
There is currently no confirmed release date or price at this time. It is also possible that more apparel will be unveiled when the collaboration receives its complete announcement.
For now, Carti’s Instagram photos remain the only official preview of the pieces. Fans interested in the collection will have to wait for YVL or BAPE to confirm the next details.
